Integrity in Action: Jack D.K. Massaquoi Launches Integrity Management Committee to Advance Transparency and Accountability at Freetown International Airport

The Sierra Leone Airports Authority (SLAA) has taken a decisive step in strengthening integrity and accountability with the launch of its Integrity Management Committee (IMC). At the inaugural meeting, General Manager Jack D.K. Massaquoi demonstrated resolute leadership and unwavering commitment to the fight against corruption and extortion at Freetown International Airport.
This initiative fulfills a key requirement of the Anti-Corruption Commission’s National Strategic Plan (NACS), ensuring that public institutions embed integrity and transparency at the core of their operations.
During the session, committee members were formally introduced, marking the beginning of a coordinated effort to uphold ethical standards and safeguard public trust in Freetown International Airport operations.
To reinforce this vision, the Board and Management of SLAA have approved the production of frames, flyers, and medals that visibly demonstrate to staff and stakeholders their collective commitment to supporting the Committee’s work. These symbols serve as daily reminders that “Integrity is the runway to progress.”
Beyond these visible measures, the Board and Management have established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor the Committee’s progress in achieving the objectives of the NACS. These KPIs provide a structured framework for accountability, ensuring that the IMC’s work translates into measurable outcomes and lasting reforms.
By championing the IMC, Mr. Massaquoi has reaffirmed SLAA’s determination to serve the nation with integrity, protect passengers and stakeholders, and advance Sierra Leone’s aviation industry on a foundation of accountability. He concluded by expressing gratitude to His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio for his reform agenda and to ACC Commissioner Francis Ben Kaifala for their steadfast leadership in embedding integrity across public institutions.
